"When one thing ends, another thing begins....
Sometimes ending something hurts, but a new beginning is always worth the pain."

New beginnings is what I will call this new blog.

This is my first entry - join me on my new journey to new beginnings.

Had to share. This is how God reminds me He loves me and is with me. I wrote this in my journal this morning BEFORE reading my devotion. " i am hitting all places on my journey at once. Rocky, low, steep, finding it difficult to climb, places seem impassable, mountains too high to climb. I know others are suffering more than I but Lord this is where I am today" Opened my Jesus Calling devotional for today. This is what it was June 1

I am involved in each moment of your life. I have carefully mapped out every inch of your journey through this day, even though much of it may feel haphazard. Because the world is in a fallen condition, things always seem to be unraveling around the edges. Expect to find trouble in this day. At the same time, trust that My way is perfect, even in the midst of such messy imperfection.

Stay conscious of Me as you go through this day, remembering that I never leave your side. Let the Holy Spirit guide you step by step, protecting you from unnecessary trials and equipping you to get through whatever must be endured. As you trudge through the sludge of this fallen world, keep your mind in heavenly places with Me. Thus the Light of My Presence shines on you, giving you Peace and Joy that circumstances cannot touch.

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
—Psalm 18:30

“For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”
—Isaiah 41:13

Celebrating Bazan 62nd Anniversary (Sept. 12, 2010)

Dad's request was to eat at Allen Cafe in Allen. This is one of the few places where he will eat a complete meal all by himself. He had 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 sausages, 2 slices of bacon. I shared the same meal with mom. Jen, Greg, Celina, Dan and of course little Austin were part of the celebration.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MOM AND DAD BAZAN 63 YEARS!

TODAY IS THEIR 63rd Wedding Anniversary - what a milestone for anyone these days. I am blessed to still have mom and dad with us. Although their health has not been the best God is still faithful and still on the throne. Of those 63 years, over 55 years were served as pastors in addition to serving as District Superintendent of the Latin American District Council for 8 years. Although they do not pastor a church any longer they are still shepherding and sharing God's love with people that come into their lives. They pray for and encourage the Meals on Wheels people that deliver food, the cashiers at the store, the nurses and doctors, and the patients waiting in the doctors offices. My mother never misses an opportunity to share God's love. They were builders of churches and now they are builders of faith in the lives of those they meet.

Dad came home Friday and he was very excited. He looks better but still unstable and frail. Mom has been having some issues with walking. We should get the results of her MRI this week. Please pray that the results or her MRI will not require any kind of surgery. RIght now both of them have mobility issues.

We are trying to work on extra home health care but we are working with the constraints of Secure Horizons their HMO. Wisdom is needed in whether or not to switch them to Medicare come November. Lots to try and understand and material to read through. sigh....We have been blessed with great care so far. The home health care agency we are working with now will be coming on Monday to reevalute and see if they can work out something.

Probably more information then you all wanted to read or know but these are specific prayer requests.

Wish them a HAPPY ANNIVESARY - they would love to hear from you. I appreciate you taking the time to encourage them and bless them with your emails.

UPDATE ON JENNIFER

Four weeks after Austin was born, Jen's incision abcessed and ruptured. She had to have another surgery which resulted in a staph infection, a week's stay in the hospital, home with a wound vac for almost 3 weeks with bed rest. Family and friends were amazing in helping us get through these difficult weeks. Things are still not settled but we are trusting God for "good things" to come. He does not give us more than we can handle

In Jennifer's own words she posted on her Facebook, she states:

Let's see I had a c-section 8 weeks ago, then in the hospital 3 weeks after that, I have had a hole in my abdomin since then... and now let's add Greg having a broken foot to the mix! It is a stress fracture, he just woke up a few days ago with it hurting and progressively got more and more painful. He went to a pediatrist today and got another set of x-rays. They said it can take awhile to show up which is why it didn't show up on the first set he took last week.
Jen and Greg continue to need our prayers. God must have something very special for them.
Jen is working on her certification to teach. However, in order for her to get the teaching job in the fall, she has to take and pass the high school science certification test covering all science (physics, chemistry, biology etc) by June! She is supposed to go back to work in May.

Pray for Dan and I as her parents to know how to minister to them at this time. Austin is our little blessing and he has brought us much joy.

STATUS ON JENNIFER

On February 25 our first grandchild was born to Jennifer and Greg Scogin. AUSTIN TREVINO SCOGIN.

Last Tuesday, Jennifer had to go back into surgery because of an infection on her c-section incision that absyssed and ruptered. They had to cut her open again to drain the infection. She did have staph - the good news it did not go to her organs but was confined to the incision area. However, they had to leave the incision open and is on a wound vac with sponge packing the open wound. She has to have it changed out every three days. She was in the hospital until yesterday. It has been a very emotional week for all of the family. Dan and I took the baby at night and would take the baby to the hospital during the day to be with his mommy. Grandpa Nestor and Grandma Celia kept the fires burning at home so we would be free to take care of things with little worry.

Jenn was blessed to have her RichTone Family schedule wonderful ladies to come sit with Austin so he could stay in the room with Jenn during the day. Patsy Reed a special friend of Jenn and Greg stayed one day for several hours.

We do not know how to say thank you enough for all the love, care and support people have shown.
Jenn will need someone to stay with her during the day. God has been good and has supplied so far loving gracious family and friends who have come through. This week her sister-in-law (Aimiee) from Friendswood is staying the week and next week her Aunt Anna from Austin will come be with her for a week.

We trust the Lord will provide her the care needed for the next 4-6 weeks.

Please keep her and our family in your prayers.

TODAY'S BLOOD TEST RESULTS

Blood work for bilirubin came back good. No increase or evidence of anything that would need emergent hospitalization. The hemoglobin blood work for anemia was lower than it was on Feb. 9. PTL -
Doctor seems to think that the lethargicness is due to the constant vomiting and possible dihydration.

Dad's spirits seem a bit better this evening.
